WAYS YOU CAN HELP
1. Become a member
The success of the sanctuary relies upon people able to pledge a fixed sum on a regular basis, however small. This is the most cost-effective way of giving and also provides us with an income. To become a member, an annual amount of £10 is required: In return for your kindness you will receive our newsletter and updates, via email where possible, to save on costs.
2. Volunteer
- Help out ‘hands on’ at the sanctuary.
- Walking dogs.
- Grooming/ helping socialise the animals.
- Help with street collections/man event stalls.
- Organise events/fundraisers
- Donate your skills ie Handyman, cake decorator, plumber, card maker, etc.
- Make handicrafts to sell at fairs.
Perhaps you have your own suggestions to make. If so please let us know.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since we are not covered by insurance it is not possible for children under 16 years of age to volunteer without adult supervision. As a charity we cannot afford to cover this risk.
3. Zone Sponsorship
The sanctuary runs appeals for people/workplaces to sponsor a zone. The importance of the scheme is that all the monies raised go towards the upkeep of building repairs and maintenance. The maintenance of so many buildings is a costly and arduous undertaking and
any financial support is greatly appreciated.
An annual donation of £240 will make a significant difference to the quality of life of the animals in our care. In return for your generosity, you will receive a certificate of zone sponsorship and we will also put a mention on our website. Please note: It is possible for more than one individual or workplace to sponsor the same zone.
4. Contributions To Running Costs
All contributions will be gratefully received, however small.
Should you wish your contributions to be exclusively for the care and upkeep of a particular animal this can be arranged to suit your requirements. We refer to this as sponsorship. For example; overall cost to keep a horse for a year is approximately £1,000- this includes feed, wormers, veterinary bills, farrier etc.
5. Animal Sponsorship
Some of our resident animals are unsuitable for re-homing due to age or health problems. These need care and attention as much as any other animal and so we have introduced an animal sponsorship scheme. Why not give an animal sponsorship to someone as a gift.
An annual sponsorship donation costs: Large animals £100 (horses and donkeys etc) Medium animals £60 (pigs, goats, large dogs etc) Small animals £30 (cats, rabbits, birds etc) All sponsors receive a certificate, Christmas card, 6X4 photograph of their chosen animal, an information sheet and an update every 6 months plus a mention on our website. Please note: It is possible for more than one individual to sponsor the same animal. All sponsors are welcome to visit their animal at the sanctuary.
